This was in my drafts for this day, June 22.
“Don't just learn, experience. Don't just read, absorb. Don't just change, transform. Don't just relate, advocate. Don't just promise, prove. Don't just criticize, encourage. Don't just think, ponder. Don't just take, give. Don't just see, feel. Don’t just dream, do. Don't just hear, listen. Don't just talk, act. Don't just tell, show. Don't just exist, live.” - Roy T. Bennett I have a habit of living small. I think there can be a healthy understanding of one's here-today-gone-tomorrow existence. I feel it every day -- I notice my skin gets leathery if I don't put on lotion or my fingernails soften when I chew on them. I can see evidence that my body is made to die. Yet I wonder. Why is that my first thought? Shouldn't I say my body is made to live? I am stronger when I read, exercise, and make new friendships. I become more gentle and outspoken when I experience hardships and empathy. I don't want to just think, I want to ponder, and ponder about Christ. I don't want to hear, I want to listen, listen to His Spirit.
