A poem written in 2011 for a high school English assignment.
A tree has grown from a sapling to a spruce Constantly changing, ever true. Withstanding the seasons without any blight A tree that’s survived many, many nights. A lumberjack, all dressed in plaid Romps over to my evergreen, extremely glad. He saws and he saws, sawing my friend My sad little evergreen’s life truly ends. The evergreen sits inside of a house Lifeless and dead without any spouse. Christmas flies by, joyful and true The sad evergreen wilted and very chartreuse. The nice ole lumberjack, full of remorse Digs up a hole by my lifeless, dead corpse. He plants my evergreen, warm and alive Happy again, again survived!
